First Snow!!

This morning I woke up to our first winter snow! David is so excited to go skiing. I think we are going to head up to Breckenridge tomorrow. This is probably one of the first winters that I am looking forward to. Bring on the snow...I'm ready!!!

Football Sunday

The whole Edwards/Allen gang always dresses in blue for the games.
Last Sunday, David and I had Jess, Jim and Cooper over to watch the Colts beat the Steelers.  I think I had way more fun watching and playing with Cooper then watching the game.  Glad the Colts won though...otherwise, it might had been a sad night.

Pumpkin Carving!!

The other day my church got together to carve pumpkins! I have never carved a pumpkin before in my life...well at least that I remember. It was so much fun, but definitely hard work. In the process, I cut my finger with the knife...that always happens to me! However, I took the easy way out and cut out a pattern for my pumpkin. I wish I got pictures of everyone's lined up but I forgot my camera. I took a picture of mine when I got home. I love the fall!!

Denver Marathon!!

The marathon is over and it went well!

I woke up at 4am to eat breakfast. I thought I would fall back a sleep for a bit but I couldn't. David woke up at 5:30am and we loaded up his bike and went to pick up Stacie. Downtown was crazy. We spent 10 minutes trying to find the port-a-potties in the dark only to find out that the line was wrapped around Civic Center Park!! The race started at 7am and I got to the port-a-pottie at 6:58am. And to my luck, my port-a-pottie had no toilet paper. Thank goodness all I had to do was pee! Once we got out, we sprinted to drop off our extra clothes with David. The gun had all ready gone off but the line of all the runners was long so we were fine.

Here is Stacie and I right before we jumped in line to start the race. Like my shirt!?! A co-worker of mine spotted it and I knew it was for me!

The coarse was awesome. We ran though downtown, city park and then to cheeseman.

This picture is of us running out of Cheeseman. David was riding his bike around taking pictures. Shortly after this picture, Rick and Scott showed up on their bikes. It was so helpful having them around! Stacie left me shortly after this picture to finish her half marathon. The only reason Stacie did the half marathon was to help me with the marathon...and man, it really helped! Right after that, I saw Jacque, one of my co-workers, who was out to support me. Then, as I was running down 7th, I saw this make shift band and they started yelling my name. At first I thought it was for a different Theresa so I didn't look at them, but then at the last minute, I saw my boss! That was awesome! Scott, Rick and David caught up with me at Washington Park. The streets were blocked off so they were able to ride right next to me. Washington Park was hard!!! My body started to completely breakdown. I remember Rick telling me that he heard that the first 21 miles or so feel like a marathon and then the last few miles feel like a marathon all on their own. And they did!

This picture is when I only had a 1/2 mile left. David took the picture and everyone else was over there with him. Rick stayed with me on his bike. I think he could tell that I desparately needed it!

My goal was to get under 4 hours and 20 minutes and my time was 4 hours and 13 minutes. The race and the 4 months of training was a great experience, but I don't know if a marathon is in my future or not. Thanks to everyone for their support...it was really awesome!

Marathon Training-almost done!!!

This past weekend I completed my longest run of my marathon training...23 miles. It was tough, but my friends joined me the 13 miles at Washington Park. I forgot just how helpful it is to have someone run next to you. There are only 2 1/2 weeks until the marathon!!

Poor Lilly :(

Lilly, my car, was hit in the middle of the night on Saturday while I was house sitting for my boss in Cherry Creek. The driver was probably drunk because the streets in Cherry Creek couldn't be any wider and my car was the only car on the street. Of course, they didn't leave their information. Oh well...David and I filed a police report. Lilly is currently at an auto body shop getting fixed. They are replacing her side panel, the front side panel, the driver mirror, front bumper, the tire rim and cap, fixing her shocks and alignment. Hopefully we get her back soon. Until then, I am hitching rides with friends and taking the bus.

Monday nights...HILLS!!!

Tonight, Julia, Emily and I celebrated another Monday night with the Hills.  We decided to venture away from Benny's; one block away-a new restaurant that just opened, Lala's.  Lala's used to be Sparrow.  Anyway, it was good italian food and wine.  Unfortunately, I'm not drinking wine or hard liquor until the marathon is over, so I had a beer.  However, it was decided that we will be back at Benny's next week:)  Geez...I LOVE Monday nights!

Jon's Birthday

I was the only girl, so I took pictures of the guys.  We had pizza at Old Chicago.

Jon turned 26 last week.  We took him out to Old Chicago downtown on Friday.  It was a good time with the guys.  Happy Birthday Jon!

Cooper's Belated 1st Birthday Party!

Cooper is trying to eat with wine cork but Grandpa Walt is helping him out!

This weekend we celebrate Cooper's first birthday at Joan's house.  Cooper was in high spirits and crawling/walking all around.  David and I are so happy that Cooper and his parents moved to Denver.  The night was full of good conversations, good food and good wine.  David and I are babysitting Cooper next weekend...see you soon Coop!

The beginnings of our new place...

This weekend, David and I spent time organizing our new apartment.  It was a lot of hard work, but it was fun and we are definitely enjoying the space!  The last thing we are waiting for is our dining room table.  It has been ordered but it might not be in until the end of the month.  Oh well.  I bought my first plant...hopefully I can keep it alive!  It is so nice to have sunlight!

RIOOOOOOOO

Jacque and Holly enjoying some drinks at the Rio
David and Holly
My co-workers and I went to the Rio last Friday to celebrate our first happy hour since Holly and Jacque started and more importantly...to celebrate David passing the CPA exam.  Yea for David!  The Rio is sooooo good!  Fortunately, I only had 2 margaritas so it didn't quite end my night, but it did encourage me to go Taco Bell on the way home:)
Jakey and his son.
Roman and his favorite aunt...hehe!
Over Labor Day weekend, David and I visited Jake and Colette and met the newest addition, Roman.  It was a great weekend and we can't wait to see them again.

We MOVED!!!

David and I have spent the last few days packing and moving into our new apartment but we are finally done!! Well, actually we still have to clean the old apartment, but then we will be done. I'll post pictures of our new place soon. It is so nice to acutally have a bedroom and unpack wedding gifts. Last night was our first night and we have a ton left to do but we are so excited. Our new apartment is on the 15th floor and it has a fairly large patio. We sat on it last night with my glass of wine and David's glass of whiskey, smiling that we were not in a basement anymore. Yipee!!

Hugs for Children's Hospital

Here is a picture of Jacque hugging Slacker from 105.9.

Here is the gang hanging out in line, waiting for the burgers.

Today, most of my co-workers and I went down to the Hard Rock Cafe and participated in Hugs for Children's Hospital.  Slacker and Steve, from 105.9, were trying to break the world record in hugs over an hour and they did it!  All you had to do was donate at least a dollar to Children's Hospital and give Slacker and Steve a hug.  And because we donated, we got free burgers from the Hard Rock Cafe.  It was a sweet deal.

Yea!!! A new season of the...

HILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Last night, Julia and I went to our favorite place...Benny's!!!! Then we moved it on back to her place to watch the Hills and it did not let us down. However, the episodes are much shorter then we remembered. It felt like it was over as soon as it began. But in the short period of time, there was plenty of drama. It looks like we have a new Monday routine!

Sundays...

Sundays consist of me contemplating when I am going to do my long run.  Then I think all day about the run.  Finally, once my run is over...I lay on the floor until I think my legs can work.  This is the first time I have trained for a marathon.  It is harder then I thought it would  be.  This Sunday was 16 miles.  It was ok.  That is all I have to say about that.

Happy Birthday Scott!

Monday was Scott's 30th Birthday. We celebrated it Stuebens. However, Ricky was out of town for it and his 30th birthday is today; so when he gets back, we are going to be throwing a much larger party for both birthday boys. David and I tried to find something fun to have Scott wear, but we found NOTHING but some beads. oh well. Happy birthday Scott and Ricky...it's a big one!!!!!

10 more weeks to go...

Today marks my 7th week of training for a marathon. Thankfully, Mondays are rest days! Yesterday, was one of the first days that I questioned if I am going to be able to make it. I had a 15 mile run yesterday. Wowsers!!!!! I am still feeling that one today. I still have 10 more weeks of training, and I guess if I keep it up, I will be able to make it. But right now, the thought of adding 11 miles on to what I did yesterday seems impossible! For the last few weeks, I have been getting up at 5 am Tue-Thur for my training because of the heat. It actually has been really nice to way to start the day. Tomorrow morning, 9 miles total of intervals. Hopefully, I will make it to the end...

The little guy is here! Roman Jacob Stotts!

Roman was born on Friday afternoon. He is 8 pounds and 4 ounces, 21 inches long. The whole family is doing well and heading home today. Can't wait to meet him!

Festival

This weekend, David and I met up with Jess, Jim and Cooper, along with some of their friends for a block festival.  I can't remember what the festival was called, but it was at old Pearl Street area.  Great music and great beer...couldn't ask for too much more!  Jim and Jess just moved here from Indiana.  It is so nice to have more family out here!  Cooper has grown so much since last time we saw him.  It is going to be so nice to have him so much closer and to see him grow! Also, I ran into some old co-workers for a brief moment.  It was nice to see them.

Waiting...

Colette, my sister-in-law, was due to give birth to my first nephew over a week ago! The doctors broke her water this morning and now, I am patiently waiting to hear news!!!!!

Mt. Elbert

Awhile ago, actually over the 4th of July, most of my church and I went camping and hiked Mt. Elbert. It was quite a hike, but we had an amazing time! Over the whole weekend, the weather was amazing.

Leah's wedding!!!

Leah, my step-sister's, wedding was a few weekends ago. It was held in Ankeny, IA at this beautiful park. Leah looked amazing! I will have to post pictures of her when I get more. David and I had a great weekend visiting family and friends. It was our first wedding that we went to as husband and wife. I liked it!

We're married!!!!

Well, I definitely haven't blogged in quite some time!! There has been a lot happening since my last blog...first of all, David and I got married on May 30, 2008. It was everything I hoped it would be. Our honeymoon was in Cabo. We had an amazing time! We did a ton of sleeping, swimming and eating. I'll have to post pictures when I get home. Ok, need to get some work done. Lot's more later!

2 Years

Today is my 2 year anniversary at my job. This is by far the longest job I have ever had. That might not be a lot, but it took me a bit to find a place that I wanted to stay at. There are only 6 of us, and the picture above shows us at Jessica's wedding in March. We went out to eat at Dixons to celebrate. I had never been there but it was a good choice.

17 days and counting...

Tonight, David and I are meeting up with the financial guy that we are going through for our mortgage. It feels so strange and a little too grown up. He gave us a list of things that we need to bring...like months of bank/savings/investment statements; W-2's from the last few years (now I know why I should have kept those!); insurance information, past employers, payroll information...blah! It took me some time to round up all of that information. I am hoping that once we get married, David will keep track and records of all the stuff...obviously I don't do the best job! At least I know now why it is important to keep that information for the future.

No word on the house. I'm sure it will get easier as days go by because they said it could take weeks, but the first few days seem to drag!

Hopefully today was the last snow we will see because the flowers at our wedding sight need time to fully grow and be beautiful!

Yeah! We're on blogger!

So, after being obsessed with all of my friends blogs, I have decided to start one of our own! My goal is to blog often and hopefully this will help me take more pictures.

There is so much going on in our lives right now. We are getting married in 18 days and we just put in an offer on a house! I told David when we first got engaged that I wanted to wait around 5 years to buy a house...well, 5 months later, here we are! I am really excited though and feel like this is the right move. Hopefully we get the house, but if not, there are many more out there.

Last weekend, I had my bachelorette party. I will post pictures about that very soon.
