Pumpkin Carving!!

The other day my church got together to carve pumpkins! I have never carved a pumpkin before in my life...well at least that I remember. It was so much fun, but definitely hard work. In the process, I cut my finger with the knife...that always happens to me! However, I took the easy way out and cut out a pattern for my pumpkin. I wish I got pictures of everyone's lined up but I forgot my camera. I took a picture of mine when I got home. I love the fall!!

Denver Marathon!!

The marathon is over and it went well!

I woke up at 4am to eat breakfast. I thought I would fall back a sleep for a bit but I couldn't. David woke up at 5:30am and we loaded up his bike and went to pick up Stacie. Downtown was crazy. We spent 10 minutes trying to find the port-a-potties in the dark only to find out that the line was wrapped around Civic Center Park!! The race started at 7am and I got to the port-a-pottie at 6:58am. And to my luck, my port-a-pottie had no toilet paper. Thank goodness all I had to do was pee! Once we got out, we sprinted to drop off our extra clothes with David. The gun had all ready gone off but the line of all the runners was long so we were fine.

Here is Stacie and I right before we jumped in line to start the race. Like my shirt!?! A co-worker of mine spotted it and I knew it was for me!

The coarse was awesome. We ran though downtown, city park and then to cheeseman.

This picture is of us running out of Cheeseman. David was riding his bike around taking pictures. Shortly after this picture, Rick and Scott showed up on their bikes. It was so helpful having them around! Stacie left me shortly after this picture to finish her half marathon. The only reason Stacie did the half marathon was to help me with the marathon...and man, it really helped! Right after that, I saw Jacque, one of my co-workers, who was out to support me. Then, as I was running down 7th, I saw this make shift band and they started yelling my name. At first I thought it was for a different Theresa so I didn't look at them, but then at the last minute, I saw my boss! That was awesome! Scott, Rick and David caught up with me at Washington Park. The streets were blocked off so they were able to ride right next to me. Washington Park was hard!!! My body started to completely breakdown. I remember Rick telling me that he heard that the first 21 miles or so feel like a marathon and then the last few miles feel like a marathon all on their own. And they did!

This picture is when I only had a 1/2 mile left. David took the picture and everyone else was over there with him. Rick stayed with me on his bike. I think he could tell that I desparately needed it!

My goal was to get under 4 hours and 20 minutes and my time was 4 hours and 13 minutes. The race and the 4 months of training was a great experience, but I don't know if a marathon is in my future or not. Thanks to everyone for their support...it was really awesome!

Marathon Training-almost done!!!

This past weekend I completed my longest run of my marathon training...23 miles. It was tough, but my friends joined me the 13 miles at Washington Park. I forgot just how helpful it is to have someone run next to you. There are only 2 1/2 weeks until the marathon!!

Poor Lilly :(

Lilly, my car, was hit in the middle of the night on Saturday while I was house sitting for my boss in Cherry Creek. The driver was probably drunk because the streets in Cherry Creek couldn't be any wider and my car was the only car on the street. Of course, they didn't leave their information. Oh well...David and I filed a police report. Lilly is currently at an auto body shop getting fixed. They are replacing her side panel, the front side panel, the driver mirror, front bumper, the tire rim and cap, fixing her shocks and alignment. Hopefully we get her back soon. Until then, I am hitching rides with friends and taking the bus.
